Grayson County Junior Historical Society

The Junior Historical Society is currently comprised of 17 high school students who have a love of history and the preservation of history. These students of the society focus on Grayson County and Kentucky history and hold club meetings twice a month to discuss future plans and projects. The members enjoy helping in community activities and volunteer their time to help make the community a better place. Junior society members have volunteered for things like grave yard clean-ups, writing letters and birthday cards to the local nursing homes to writing a popular TV show to ask for help on restoring the log cabin on the grounds of the Jack Thomas House. When not volunteering their time, the members focus on state and national competitions for National History day, and the plans for creating an event called, A Walk Through History, is in the planning process and will be a yearly event for this society members.
